These Quarantined Cats Are A Total Mood
With most people are self-isolating, quarantined, and working from home, it's the first time pets have a chance to be with their humans 24-7. One would think the pet might be excited that their best friend is home to play, cuddle, and entertain. But then there are cats.
Quarantined cats are something else. They are confused as to why their domain is being infiltrated, and why they can't go outside. Well, thankfully for us, that confusion leads to some pretty great pictures! Keep scrolling to see some of the best quarantined cats; they're a total mood.
These Paws Were Made For Walkin'
Oh, you were doing a puzzle during your isolation period? That's cute. Obviously, your cat had other ideas as to what you should be doing during the quarantine. And clearly, it's something more important than utilizing your brain for a game, such as feeding him.
"These paws were made for walkin', and that's just what they'll do, one of these days these paws are going to walk all over your puzzle unless you feed me, scratch my head, and then leave me alone for the rest of the day."
When Quarantine Is Mandatory But Judgement Is Life
If we're going to stereotype cats, they tend to be judgy animals. They have very expressive faces that make you feel as though everything you do is beneath them. Well, this cat got tired of its owner's antics and needed some new subjects to scrutinize.
And there's nothing quite like a cat on a mission to look out the window with a glare. With its back paws on the best and its front on the window sill, it's a good thing cats defy gravity!
So, When Are You Going Back To School?
A lot of people are starting to get a bit stir-crazy sitting at home all day during the quarantine. And it looks like this cat's owner is no different. Nothing says "when are you going back to school, tiny human" than a cat covered in dinosaur figurines.
His face is the epitome of the phrase "the calm before the storm." (The storm, in this case, being the tiny human getting an arm full of scratch marks if they don't take the toys off this black cat ASAP.)
VP Of Working From Home
This is the look of the co-worker you never asked your boss to hire. They're breathing down your neck, partially covering your keyboard, and giving you a death stare that screams, "if you put one foot out of line, I'm sending a letter to HR."
That or this fuzzy cat is wondering when his designated feeding and grooming time is scheduled on this calendar. If we had to guess, it looks like the human forgot to select a specific time, and he's not thrilled.
He Just Wants A Cat-Bod
A lot of people are taking the time in quarantine to get back in shape for the summer. And what better way to start the journey than with some low weights and a yoga component? Unfortunately, this cat is not overly amused with their human's decision to better themselves.
If the kitty's eyes tell us anything, it's that this "working out thing" isn't going to fly. This cat needs its couch potato buddy during this hard time!
Lazy Co-Worker
Well, this is one of the worst co-workers we've ever seen. She came to work late, yawned through two Zoom meetings, and is now sleeping on the job, literally. If this human thinks they're going to get this cat off the iPad for any reason, they're sadly mistaken.
The tablet is probably nice and warm from charging. There's no way the cat is going to make moves to leave its personal heating pad!
Barely Hanging On Being Around Humans All Day
This cat is a total mood, just hanging off the couch, most likely wishing their human would go back to the office so they can have a moment of peace. Like we said, total mood. If the human could hang half-way off the couch, we'd bet money they would jump right to it.
It's a whole "half hanging on to our sanity; half we're falling off the deep end" pose. Hopefully, this cat can hang in there for a few more weeks of self-isolation!
The Face Of A Cat Being Put On A Quarantine Diet
When the quarantine was issued, a lot of people took it as a chance to start eating a bit healthier and to start redefining their lifestyle. And, if you couldn't tell, this fat cat is so not down for the cause.
When a human starts eating healthy, they start thinking about their pets and making them healthier too. It looks as though this kitty is plotting to go on strike before they allow their human to stop giving them treats.
Social Distancing Has Us All Like...
As social distancing becomes the new norm around the world, this cat is feeling the effects. Per typical cat behavior, this guy decided to up the ante and be overly dramatic. Hate to break it to you, friend, but you're not actually in jail!
It might feel like it, but there is no way you weren't able to go around the banister to get pets from your human. We guess that must have been too simple. Either that, or this cat is taking the six-feet rule very seriously.
So Over The 24-7 Human Interaction
A few weeks in quarantine, and this cat is looking to end their human permanently. The black cat was unaware that it doesn't have thumbs to grip the knife, but we're not going to stomp on his dreams.
At least he had the decency to look a bit startled when getting caught. Sorry, but the cat's out of the bag. We know you weren't organizing, but trying to figure out a way to get the knife out of the block.
Social Distancing Pros
For all of you "cool cats and kittens" out there, take a page out of these two felines' books. Keep six feet away from others! But who are we kidding, these two probably don't want to be close to each other, per typical cat behavior.
Regardless, we're going to use them as a good example of social distancing! They aren't sitting close to one another and are doing nothing more than staring at the ground. Well, maybe don't stare at the ground, but do keep your distance!
The Last Face You'll Ever See
If this isn't the face of a cat who is really over their human being home, then we're not sure what is. We thought we were all itching to be outside, but it looks like this cat is feeling the heat of the walls closing in a lot more than us.
If we could talk to this cat's human directly, we'd tell them to maybe go out to their front or back yard for a bit and give their cat some space. Either that or we hope they have band-aids for the scratches they're about to get!
Can I Offer You Some Creepiness In This Trying Time?
With most people taking their work home, pets are beyond confused, especially cats who enjoy their "me time." This cat is especially confused as to why their human is organizing their typically empty desk and settling in for the long haul.
So, in standard cat fashion, he decided to stare its human down until they most likely became extremely uncomfortable. That, or an epic stare-down occurred with the half-face kitty. Our bet is the cat won.
What Day Is It?
This cat is thinking what we're all thinking, "what day is it?" He literally looks like he just woke up from a winter coma and has no clue where he is, what time it is, or what day of the week it happens to be.
He's sending us major Robin Williams Jumanji vibes. But if Williams' character was a cat and not human and he was wondering the day and not the actual year.
Stay Inside You Say? Sure!
This cat took it upon itself to take social distancing and quarantine to a whole other level. Obviously, the house or apartment wasn't enough for this germophobe; he needed to have his only little sanctuary that no human would dare to enter.
Okay, maybe not dare to enter, more like they can't fit into the cat bed, so they don't have a choice in the matter. But if that wasn't a deterrent, the "don't even think about it" facial expression would definitely keep anyone back.
Been Self-Quarantined Before It Was Government Ordered
If you told this cat that the government said quarantining is the best option right now, it'd probably laugh in your face. Well, if cats could laugh, that is. Clearly, Sir Kitty is beyond content in his brown bag home.
And, by the looks of it, he's been there for some time. Obviously he's been self-isolating himself way before his humans and is now in the business of staying far away from everyone else in the world.
When Someone Is Stealing Your Title Of Tiger King
Joe Exotic clearly didn't talk to this cat before titling himself the "Tiger King." Anyone looking at this cat knows that he thinks the title is his, and Joe Exotic needs to take his words back before kitty takes his paws out from underneath him and starts a fight.
Actually, that fight might be interesting to watch. We'll just have to make sure to put sardine oil on Mr. Exotic's shoes, just to make things interesting.
Settling For A Different Type Of Mouse
The thing with self-isolating is that we're all stuck at home without any interaction, aside from whoever lives in the house with us. In this case, a cat. But there seems to be a problem with the cat.
Clearly, he's been inside for far too long and is mildly confused as to what type of mouse he is staring at. Even though he looks confused, we bet it took a solid five seconds after this picture was taken for him to either try and bite the mouse or knock it off the table.
Giving Up On Life Underneath Table Cloths
This cat is the epitome of what most people are thinking during the quarantine. Find some fabric, not even a blanket, lie underneath it, and just have one hand (paw) sticking out, so it looks like a crime scene.
To say we don't feel this cat's mood on a deeply personal level would be an understatement. If we were tiny enough to fit underneath that floral print with him, we wouldn't hesitate.
Wait, You're Working From Home For How Long?
This is the face of a cat who doesn't quite understand when their human says, "I'm going to be working from home for the next few weeks." Their human must be putting a damper on their daily antics, whatever those may be.
We don't think we've ever seen a cat so concerned with how their life is unfolding. This one especially looks like he needs to talk to a professional because it looks like he's about to make a drastic, life-changing decision.
Abiding By The Stay-In-Box Order
Don't let that face fool you; this kitty isn't too upset about the stay at home orders. It just means that their human is going to buy all of the unnecessary things off of Amazon. And what happens when Amazon packages arrive?
Boxes! Lots and lots of boxes. Considering this cat is sitting in a box that's in a box, it's safe to say they're feeling alright with the stay-in-the-box order.
Meh, I Kind Of Like You
You know you've been in quarantine too long when the cat starts to like you. And not even like you, but allow for a nose boop. And, to top it all off, the guy is smiling, which makes us think this isn't the first time during the self-isolation that these two have had a moment.
Well, either that or the kitty is about five seconds away from biting their human's nose. Yes, that sounds more cat-like to us.
When The Cat Needs More Attention
This cat owner definitely gives their kitty a boatload of attention. We mean, come on, their mouse pad and coffee mug both feature pictures of the black cat! Crazy cat person alert! But, as it turns out, the mug and mouse pad aren't enough attention for the sleek boy.
Nope, this cat needed to make sure their human notices them while they work from home. And what better way to do that than stand right in front of their work station while they are trying to run reports?
Wake Me Up When Quarantine Ends
Quarantine, human's working from home, no time to themself; yea, this cat is fed up. If hiding underneath the blanket is any indication, this kitty is ready to have free rein of the house once again.
We wouldn't be surprised to find him listening to "Wake me up When September Ends" on loop—only changing out September with Quarantine. We feel you, little guy. But trust us when we say we'd bet money your human is counting down the days until the quarantine is lifted.
Territories Have Been Marked
This cat owner has a bit more to worry about than finding a store stocked with toilet paper. It seems like they have a territory war on their hands. And the war so happens to be located directly in their home.
Since the two generals are cats, we're going to take a wild guess and say the war is not going to end well. But it will end, and we're curious as to who is going to win. Our bet is the kitty with the high ground.
Can We Go Outside Yet?
We have so many questions about this cat. The most important being how in the world did they manage to get between the two doors? At least, it looks like they're between the two doors. Then again, it is a cat and they defy the laws of physics.
We can't even blame it for squeezing between the two doors in hopes of getting outside. Most of us are getting a little stir-crazy during quarantine, and it looks as though this kitty is no different.
When You're Sick Of People And Try To Get To Narnia
We know, the cats are getting a bit antsy because their humans are home for way longer than they're used to. Well, this cat is so over everything: the quarantine, their human being home, and just life in general because of it all.
So, he took it upon himself to find an opening that will hopefully bring him straight to Narnia. We're guessing this cat hopes the state of the fictional land is better than Earth. We understand, Mr. Cat.
Space Sounds Like A Good Idea Right Now
You know you've been in quarantine for a long time when you make plans to build a cardboard spaceship for your cat. Honestly, we're here for it. While the rest of the world is in self-isolation, this black cat gets to imagine flying off to space.
We just hope he doesn't wind up eating any of his toy companions on the trip. But who are we kidding, with that blanket inside the box it's obvious he's just going to sleep the entire time.
Cat(ching) Up On Some Professional Development
Nothing says you used your time in quarantine productively than teaching your cat how to read professional development books. However, we're not entirely sure a cat needs to learn about being radically truthful.
Cats are already very truthful beings. They have no problem telling you when they want nothing to do with you or if they think something shouldn't be on a countertop. At least staring at the book is keeping the cat busy.
Want To Play A Game?
Like so many cats during quarantine, this tiny white ball of fluff is pretty confused as to why their human is home and not paying attention to them. Don't they know that being home automatically means playtime with the kitten?
This cat doesn't look like it's going to budge, either. It's going to go one of two ways, either the human is going to forget about work and play with the cat, or the cat will continue to sit on the keyboard. Good luck, human!
The Face Of A Cat Put On A Diet
Some people in self-isolation are taking this time to work on their health. That means eating better and maybe doing some at-home workouts. It's too bad that their healthy lifestyle translates over to their not-so-willing animals.
Take this cat, for example. He's sitting at the table, daydreaming about a big bowl of food because his human has decided its a good idea to use a portion control scooper. If looks could kill, this cat's human would be done for.
When Traveling Is Out of The Question
Unfortunately for those bitten by the travel bug, self-isolation leaves no time to go places. That doesn't mean daydreaming isn't allowed! We all need to take a page out of this cat's book and get some travel-inspired bedding.
Even though the cat obviously didn't pick it out, we can't help but admire the monuments and buildings on the elegant bed. It's definitely making us want to go to Paris! Maybe we'll book a ticket for when all of this craziness is over.
The Face Of An Unamused Kitty
We're all for keeping yourself busy during the quarantine. But we also understand that sometimes people get a little stir-crazy and start doing weird things, like putting fuzzy pink bows on top of their un-amused cats.
Seriously, this cat looks two seconds away from putting their human in time-out. This is definitely the face of a kitty how would like nothing better than to not be in self-isolation with their human for one moment longer.
Pretending The Window Leads Outside
With the stay at home order in place, a lot of people aren't going outside as much as they're used to. And with the looks of it, this cat is no different. Nothing says, "I need to get out of this house" quite like using a window that doesn't actually go outside.
We're going to chalk it up to the cat having a wild imagination and pretending that they're stepping foot in some soft grass and not on a little table in the living room.
Working From Home Like
A lot of people are working from home nowadays. And in doing so, they're staying inside a lot more than normal. That being said, everyone working from home should take a page out of this cat's book and make themself a pretty little outdoor work station.
Not only will it get you out of the house, but it will give you an opportunity to soak up some much-needed sunlight and enjoy a lovely breeze while shooting off emails.
Toys Are No Longer Entertaining
This cat's human needs to hit up Amazon ASAP. You know things are going south when the cat is no longer interested in its toys. Especially when the toy consists of a fake mouse on the end of a flexible spring that he can swat back and forth.
If anything, purchase something from Amazon so the cat at least has a box to keep it occupied. We mean, the poor thing is literally falling asleep sitting up in front of its toy!
At-Home Workout: Cat Edition
We can all learn a thing or two from this cat owner. Who needs fancy and expensive toys when you can give you cat hours of entertainment right from your iPad? Yes, those are virtual mice the cats are staring at.
We just hope they don't pounce on the technology and accidentally scratch or crack the screen. Then again, the owner probably thought through that outcome and really doesn't care all that much.
The Breakfast-Stealing Co-Worker
Working from home is a new type of challenge for almost everyone in the workforce. For some, it might mean opening a whole new can of worms. Now, you have to entertain and home-school kids and maybe give a pet more attention throughout the day.
Well, this owner has another issue in the form of a bad, breakfast-stealing co-worker. The best part is that this cat just walked straight up to the yogurt while its human's sitting right there. Bold.
Obviously The Human Doesn't Know About Second Breakfast
This floofy cat obviously thinks he worked hard enough during the in-home workout session to deserve a second breakfast. Too bad for him that his owner put him on a diet. We mean, there are literally two huge bags of food and a container full, too.
How much does this feline eat? If his body size says anything, we will bet a good amount of food passed through his tiny lips for his owner to think a diet is a smart choice. Yea, this cat is over self-isolation.
Making A Break For It
This cat is a definite quarantine mood. We get it; you don't want to be stuck inside with your human any longer. You're probably wondering when they're finally going to leave the house and let you rule over your domain once again.
Well, hate to break it to ya, kitty, but you and your human are going to have a bit more quality time in the coming weeks. So, we recommend not learning how to open doors!
